Large Private hospital is seeking an experienced Professional Nurse to deliver holistic, person‑centred care and coordinate patient management within their Cardiothoracic Theatre within a multi‑disciplinary team.
The role includes advanced clinical practice, emergency response, quality assurance, staff support and effective communication across the unit.
 
Key Focus Areas
    • Provide specialised nursing care, assess patient needs and implement individualised care plans.
    • Support clinical teams, ensure accurate documentation and maintain safe, high‑quality care standards.
    • Participate in training, mentoring and policy adherence.
    • Allocate resources effectively and contribute to continuous professional development.
    • Engage positively with stakeholders and support digital clinical systems.
    • Identify and respond to life‑threatening situations and initiate emergency treatment (RESUS) within Scope of Practice.
    • Conduct patient interviews, assess needs, and participate in multi‑disciplinary care planning.
    • Complete rounds with medical practitioners and develop individualised nursing care plans.
    • Maintain accurate day/night shift documentation and communicate unit activities to the Unit Manager.
 
Requirements
    • Registered Professional Nurse (SANC).
    • Minimum 5 years’ private hospital Theatre experience as a Cardiothoracic Scrub Nurse.
    • Strong clinical judgement, communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
    • Willingness to participate in call duties and collaborate to achieve unit goals.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
